Day of Reading
The Day of Reading is a different kind of fundraiser - one that inspires the imagination, links children together through the magic of storytelling, AND raises money for some longed for items.
Seize the Day!
On November 11, the children will come to school in their jammies, along with a favorite stuffed toy and a treasured book. High School students will be paired with a buddy in the younger grades and the day will be spent exploring the magic of words and pictures.
The first $20,000 raised this year will go to SUSTAIN and ENHANCE the ART and MUSIC PROGRAMS . When we reach the $20,000 goal, we will make an ALL SCHOOL CD with our new Recording Studio. Specific items include: update of the OGS Recording Studio, new instruments, art supplies, etc.
Every dollar raised above $20,000 will go to REFURBISH THE MAIN HOUSE. Specific items include: RENOVATE public bathroom, REPLACE furniture and ADD warm and inviting paint.
In addition to sponsorship dollars, we are requesting students, parents, staff to donate gently used books to the school library. Check out the OGS librarian's Most Wanted Books list.
Family and friends can help.
The event spreads beyond campus to extended family and friends because each one of us can make a donation large or small to sponsor the Day of Reading.
Make a donation today. Thank you for helping to make a difference.
